You can't sustain an Empire on a Service economy.

You can't run an empire on a Service economy, the root word of service are all weak sounding definitions, servant, servile, servitude etc, The ruling elite’s of the United States traded their industrial economy for a service economy and this is really what the military empire rests on not visa versa.
**
You would think the strategic planners of the nation would see that their empire would be unsustainable if they weakened their pawn base, their proletariat what ever you want to call the mass of the working class.
**
Now in order to enrich themselves they empowered a strong challenger to their Global System in China, the empowerment was done by transferring knowledge, technology and capital to china, and they key element was allowing these things to be shipped back into the US without a high tariff attached to them, now we are in late phases of the game.

The Norman Anti Vikings

Norse Men= North Men = Normans
**
The Normans were originally Vikings who mutated into a distinct group of people who settled in France, and would later conquer England and change England forever.
**
Very interesting group of people I would like to read more books about.

One of my favorite records Big City by Merle Haggard

I first bought this album as a cassette from a Woolworth bargain bin  when I was about 18 or 19 years old and first starting to explore country music after years of listening to rock music, this album still holds up to this day, although I now have it on a CD.

A Nice 6 Week Paid Vacation Would Be Good About Now.

My company doesn't offer any type of paid vacation but I sure could use one right about now. I haven't had a vacation in like 2 years 6 weeks off might be start in the right direction of rejuvenating me.
**
Merry Christmas every body.

Be careful when using Wubi

Wubi is a way to install Ubuntu the Linux Operating System into your Windows operating system as a "Virtual Machine" all I can say is be sure to back up your data on the Windows PC before doing the upgrade to the dual boot as you may lose all your data, as there are glitches in Wubi.

My favorite pen to use while cab driving cab is the Pilot G-2 07 (fine point) Gel pen.  It is retractable which makes it easy to use in the work environment. The pen is reliable , writes on demand, and has a smooth flow of black ink that flows from it's tip.
**
I also like to use the pen to write in my journal that I keep while driving my cab.

ALMOST A CLASSIC..GREAT FIGHT ROBERT HELENIUS VS DEREK CHISORA

One of the better HeavyWeight fights I Have seen in the last 10 years.

Loosley speaking some the best fights I have seen are.

Ike Iebuchi vs David Tua

Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis

Wladimir Klitschko vs Peters I

Sergi Lyhovich vs Lamon Brewster

Oleg Maskeav vs Rahman

And this fight Helenius vs Chisora

I couldn’t watch the fight real time because I had to work so I had to watch a replay , although I did take time out and watch Povetkin vs Boswell also a good fight, but not to the level of Helenius vs Chisora.

I had the fight 115-113 for Chisora but the fight wasn’t a robbery or anything. I was very difficult to score because Chisora would throw a lot of punches but many of them were blocked and some of Helenius sharp punches were hard to see. Helenius showed a great chin when punches did get through.
Chisora was also a bit of a Billy Goat often leading with his head but there were no cuts from butts although Chisora was warned for using his head.

This fight was no more a robbery than Marquez vs Pacqiao III or Paul Williams Lara.

Juan Manuel Beaten By Judges Last Saturday Night.

Juan Manuel Marquez fought Manny Pacquiao this last Saturday night 11/12/2011
**
In a fight I scored for Marquez 117-112 . The judges gave the fight to Pacquiao .
**
Marquez was able to be hit and not be hit. He was in total command of the fight, with Pacquiao winning maybe three rounds in my opinion with one round even.
**
Marquez at the ripe age of 38 is a boxing genius with tremendous balance, which he uses to defend and throw awesome combination's from the most exact angles as to minimize his risk of being hit, maximizing his chances of landing on his opponent.
**
Marquez fights with a courage, passion and brilliance unmatched by most boxers.
**
A definite all time legend.

One hypothesis is that the collapse of Euro will benefit the US and US Dollar over long term.

One hypothesis is that the collapse of Euro will hurt the US in the short term as one of the US major trading partners the EU will not be able to buy as many American goods and services and many American banks that lent to European banks will also be hurt.
**
After the initial pain of the Euro collapse say 3 years, the US dollar would then be the only game in town, and it's reserve status would be cemented for at least another 10 years.

LUCIAN BUTE MASTER PIECE THEATRE.

Lucian Bute pitched practically a shut out as Bute out boxed skilled veteran(42 years old) fighter Glenn Johnson this last Saturday night 11/5/2011.
**
In an inspiring performance that made me think of the NBA’s Michael Jordan in his prime, Bute defeated Glen Johnson aka the “Road Warrior”. Johnson gained that nickname for often fighting in his opponents home towns.
**
Bute is no definitely in the top 3 of the 168 pound division Along with Andre Ward, and Carl Froch all having a legitimate claim to being the best 168 pound fighter in the world.
**
Froch and Ward will fight in December and if Bute fights the winner of that event we will clearly have our answer to who is the best 168 pound fighter in the world.

DOW Jones over 12,000 ?

The stock market is a rigged game.  Doesn't mean people can't make money at it. That said though the stock market has no relation to the real economy.
**
The whole country could be without a job unable to buy the goods and services made by the companies on the DOW Jones and it would still read Stock Market over 12,000.

The biggest problem with sports  and politics in the USA is  that it all feels contrived, controlled and manufactured. Very boring

Short Tank Artists.

In the cab business where I work, a short tank is when you go to get your cab from the driver who drove it the previous shift and he doesn't fully fill the tank with gas.
**
This can save him money that he saves at your expense.
**
For egregious violation there are remedies within our system to collect payment for not receiving the cab fully gassed up.
**
But there are some drivers who I will call short tank artists, they fill the cab up but not all the way as there are various points on the "F" = full part of the fuel gauge, and what these cheapskates do is fill the cab enough to not get in trouble with the bosses but not fill the tank up as far as it should be saving themselves about 5 dollars a shift which adds up.

S.1619 : Currency Exchange Rate Oversight Reform Act of 2011

Be interesting to see what happens to this Bill that is on the Senate floor.
**
It is directed at forcing China to revalue it's currency higher.
**
I don't know if the Bill is a good thing or bad but definitely interesting.

Rest in Peace Steve Jobs.

The passing of of Steve Jobs has made me very sad.
**
For me a man in my 40's he is a cultural icon like Elvis Presley was to others from another era.
**
Rest in Peace Steve Jobs who's products brought so much pleasure and fascination to so many , I am truly saddened with your passing.

Personal Historian , Journalist.

When I am driving my cab I sometimes feel like a journalist or historian who is working for himself. I meet an extraordinary amount of interesting people and am always interested in their stories and how they go to where they are at this point in their lives.
**
I also drive through a variety of neighborhoods from the very wealthy to the very poor and always wonder how these places and the people who live in these places go to this point in their history.
**
Sometimes you can drive into a nook of the city that is very depressed , and think wow this just the end of the line, complete poverty surrender.

Humans came into their present state 200,000 to 50,000 years ago.

 Per Wikipedia
"Humans (known taxonomically as Homo sapiens, Latin for "wise man" or "knowing man" are the only living species in the Homo genus. Anatomically modern humans originated in Africa about 200,000 years ago, reaching full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago."
**
I would have thought it was more like a million years ago and who really knows how all this came about, me personally I can reconcile God with Evolution.
**
So if Wikipedia is correct and we have only been around 200,000 to 50,000 years then we as humans have to help each other out with our new found humanity as we deal with all our ancient animal instincts in this odd mix of who we are part  animal and part divine.

In the last two weeks have noticed food inflation

When I am out making my rounds in my cab , I have noticed about a 15% increase in the price of food , in the little restaurants and coffee shops I stop and buy things in.
**
I wonder if interest rate's will be raised in 18 months or so.

Monday, September 19, 2011

The Age of Turbulence.

That was the title of Alan Greenspan's book published in 2007.
**
I think his title has gotten it right and that's what the world financial system has been experiencing for the last few years.
**
The way I stay more relaxed and productive is to not pay attention to the new's headlines to closely and just push on with what you have to do and work on what you have control over.

Python vs Ruby

I was studying Python for about 4 months as a hobby, when a programmer in my cab told me he loved Ruby and thought it was awesome and that I could be making money doing Ruby in about 3 months. Hence I went out and got a Ruby book, and have been doing some online exercises, I will keep you updated how it goes.

Nord Stream pipeline open-a move on the Eurasian chess board.

I read an article where Russia opened it's Nord Stream pipeline on September 6, 2011. Has interesting implications in giving the  Russians a deeper relationship with Western Europe, access to more capital and all that goes with that.

This is a great quote that a a fellow cab driver told me as I drove him home one morning when he was done with his shift.

Looks like Puppy Linux has pulled ahead of Damn Small Linux

I am minor geek with emphasis on minor.  A couple of years ago I was trying to rehabilitate  an old computer using the Linux release Damn Small Linux, in the mean time I have added more ram to the pc, and started running the Puppy version of Linux on that box.
**
My experiment with this computer is only just beginning though.

Talked to couple from Poland in my cab yesterday who were on vacation.

They said the economy in Poland was good with big smiles on their faces. Wow.  I am now wondering   if they understood my question correctly . But hey they are on vacation so it must be pretty good.

I love this Bukowski Poem.

I will start one of my vignettes one day with the similar riff of " I was born into this ..." which is slightly different than his. Guy was a definite  genius haven't read his stuff in quite a while though as it can become repetitive..

I hate to put it like this but humans are mammals.

Doesn't mean there might not be some divine intervention in there but definitely smart mammals.

Some good movement in semi moribund heavy weight division.

On Saturday 8.27.2011 we had some good movement in the Heavy Weight division, in a Heavy Weight double header we had Robert Helenius knocking out tough but out gunned Sergiy Liakhovich.
**
The other fight involved Alexander Povetkin, defeating a former champion Ruslan Chagev for a majority decision.
**
The good thing about this for the Heavy Weight division is that both Povetkin and Helenius have lots of room to improve. With Helenius probably having the potential to become a very accomplished champion.

Contradictions. Always Contradictions.

You can’t have a Central Bank that picks the winners and losers in an economy and have a “Free Market”.

Now that maybe a good thing because a real free market may not be what we are after.

Boxing As An Art Form.

Boxing is an art form.
**
Sometimes during the course of a fight you get a peak into a fighters soul.
**
At this point the fight fan becomes almost voyeuristic, This event of seeing into the fighters soul lets the fan  see into their own soul.
**
All art is really like this.

**
In women, art, music, politics I usually follow my own path. The same as in the way I follow boxing.
**
I don't always buy into the hype that the mainstream is spoon feeding me.
**
I look forward to the heavy weight double header coming up on August 27, 2011. Robert Helenius vs. Sergei Liakhovich,  and Alexander Povetkin vs. Ruslan Chagaev.
**
This fight isn’t being served up to the American fans in an easily accessible format but should make for a great night of fighting.

The World Island

According to Halford Mackinder , the godfather of modern Geo Politics , who ever controls the world island controls the world.

The "World Island" being the Eurasian landmass, with about 60-70% of the worlds productive capacity on it.

Random Notes:

The whole debt ceiling S+P downgrade thing is just too depressing to go into right now, although I have some definite thoughts on the whole situation.
**
Kelly Pavlik my favorite Boxer is going through some personal issues and just abruptly pulled out of a fight he was supposed to participate in this past Saturday August 6, 2011.
**
I finished studying the Python Scripting language for 3 hours today. What I learned and how it is applied we will see, but I am at least doing the leg work.

Hunter Gatherer vs Post Industrial Revolution.

I some times think that humans evolutionary state is one of hunter gatherer , living in a post industrial world.
**
I think it is difficult for humans psyche to live in a fast paced stressful world, of strange confining work schedules.
 **
A world of artificial rhythms, disconnected from our hunter gatherer past.
**
As we chase currency instead of wild game to feed ourselves.

The Macho World of Desktop Support.

I help a friend out sometimes who has a small startup.  I hang out with the desktop support crew there sometimes, they are a stressed out bunch of macho geek's who smoke cigarettes and eat the wrong kinds of food, all with knowing nod towards Star Trek and pc gaming.
**
These guys are the under appreciated grunts of the IT world who keep the servers, switches, routers and end users computers going.

Kill City-Album by Iggy Pop and James Williamson

Kill City is one of my favorite albums of all time.  I would say that it is in my list 75 albums all time.   The original vinyl record was green.
**
Iggy recorded this album in 1975 while on weekend pass from a mental hospital he was going to quit his drug addiction.
**
I see Iggy's kill city as a bridge catharsis from his unsustainable drug(heroin) induced lifestyle to his next stages of art/life and creativity.

Journalists Who Write Book Reviews Tend To Give Good Reviews To Other Journalists Who Write Books.

I don't know if it is because many journalists are frustrated writers, but it seems when one of their brethren writes a book they tend to give it rave reviews, and tend to hold writers like William Vollman, and Graham Greene in high esteem to name a few writers that were former journalists.
**
PS I think Graham Greene is one of the greatest writers ever.

I Wonder If The Same Interests That Were The Architect's of Globalization Are Still In Charge of That Process.

I wonder if same elites and economic interests that have been defining this form and phase of Globalization for the last 15 years  are still in charge of the direction the process ?
**
I wonder if the rise of Germany expansion of EU along with rise of BRIC countries has changed the calculus in any way?

Debt Ceiling Talks Big Scam.

Debt ceiling talks are a big scam to cheat the American people out of their Social Security and Medicare.

Rating Agencies like moody's in bed with Wall Street.

You didn't hear any of this talk of debt ceilings when wall street was getting it's bailouts.

Apple Iphone vs Google Android-Does there really need to be a winner?

Does there really have to be a winner?  I picked the Android because that's what was available to me, and I am falling in love with it, it is like a  little Linux box. Very cool.

Eyes On The Prize “Eurasia”

According to Zbigniew Brezezinski A power that dominates Eurasia would control two of the worlds three most advanced and economically productive regions. A  mere glance at the map also suggests that control over Eurasia wold almost automatically entail Africa’s subordination, rendering the Western Hemisphere and  Oceania geopolitically peripheral to the world’s central continent. About 75% of the worlds people live in Eurasia, and most of the worlds physical wealth is there as well, both in its enterprises and underneath it’s soil.  Eurasia accounts for about 60 percent of the world’s GNP and about three-fourths of the world’s known energy resources.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

My extra time is split between two activities.

I am studying the Python scripting language and I am reading the book by Zbigniew Brezezinksi titled the "The Grand Chess Board" from 1997 very good book.

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Republicans-Democrats really on the same team, they have different constituents but the same boss who are the super rich.

These politicians are putting on a fake dance just like WWF wrestling all in a scripted   scam, to reduce the Americans peoples access to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

I really liked the look of this building, read somewhere on the web that it was built in 1909 ..makes sense cause it looks so cool..

Wladimir Klitschko Beats David Haye By Wide Margin on July 2, 2011

Wladimir Klitschko beat David Haye by a wide margin on Saturday, in one of Wladimir's best wins.  There was not a lot of contact in the fight but there was drama until the end as it was felt either man could knock the other out until the final bell.
**
David Haye who is an annoying self promoter proved to be better than I thought although he did choose safety over valor and was not going to risk getting seriously hurt in this fight.
**
This is Wladimir Klitschko's second best career victory in my opinion. His best victory was the rugged battle he fought and one against Samuel Peter in their first meeting.
**
Wladmimr is 35 years old now and I would say has physically peaked but could still win a few more fights to be sure.
**
I see Robert Helenius to be Wladimir's biggest threat at heavyweight and would say Robert is about a 12-18 months away from presenting a serious challenge.
**
Add a little more seasoning to Helenius with a victory over Sergi  Lyhovich or Arreola and let Wladimir get a little bit  older and weaker, and we will have a great fight on our hands.

A FICTIONAL TRUTH California = Northern Mexico

California is becoming Northern Mexico, California's present is the USA's future. A kinda Third World where Non Hispanic Whites make up about 40% of population.
**
It is possible that  the amount of time it takes for this population shift to be complete about another 40 years the economic engine that draws the immigrants will be fully stopped\gone and the country will be in the process of breaking into several regional countries.
**
At the same time this is happening  new emerging nations and civilizations around the world will replace what was once the United States as the the vanguards of humanity.

Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye July 2, 2011

Well blown up Cruiser Weight David Haye has talked himself into a big payday and possible smack down verse the 6'6 Wladimir .
**
Haye's only chance is Wladimir reputation for a glass jaw and stamina problems in the past mixed in with Wladimir's advancing age of 35.
**
I will be pulling for Wladimir as I have been a fan of both Klitschko brothers since I have been started following their careers many years back.

AUCHTUNG! David Bowie's Berlin Triology

Was driving the city today when I heard David Bowie's famous song "Hero's come up on my MP3 player.
Hero's is on the David Bowie Album Hero's which along with Low and Lodger are known as the Berlin Trilogy as David Bowie was living in West Berlin at the time of their inception, Bowie was also hanging out with Iggy Pop at the time who also recorded an of interesting albums in Berlin which I believe was Iggy's album the Idiot.

This is my favorite tree in San Francisco the Melaleuca Tree

I love these trees , They are from Australia, The trees have gone on to become pests in places like Florida, but they are beautiful on the San Francisco Streets, I will post more as I have time to take pictures of them.

Been using one of these phones lately Optimus-LG-P509.

Using one of these phones is really a lesson in modernity for me.  I really don't like them when using it for my internet access the screen is very small and it is hard to type on.  None the less I will work with it for a while just to familarize myself with it.
**
With my limited knowledge of these things it appears to use the Android operating system  is based on the Linux kernel which sounds pretty cool.
**
I used to want an iphone but to get the phone plan with AT+T was just too complicated for my needs.
**
I think the ideal set up for me would be a small netbook with internet card and and small cell phone and that is what I will strive to buy next time I acquire some hi tech communication gadgetry.

San Francisco Cab drivers went on strike for two hours on Tuesday 6.21.2011

It was a nice little labor action that got the cab driver some good PR in their battle to get rid of many onerous regulations being put upon them by the SFMTA(San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency).

The way I feel tonight.

Tonight wish I had 5 to 7 million dollars as I don't really ever want to work again.

The way things are going I wonder if 5 to 7 million would be enough to carry me to the end?

Gennady Golovkin defended his WBA World Title Vs Kassim Ouma June 17 , 2011

Gennady Golovkin defended his WBA World Title on June 17, 2011 against Kassim Ouma in an action packed bout in Panama city Panama.
**
The title they fought for pretty much meaningless, although I would say the fight was a coming out party for Golovkin who is ready to challenge the big names in the Middle Weight Division..
**
Golovkin is a talented steel will competitor but needs to work on his defense if he wants to stake his claim at greatness, as is now his defense depends too much on his ability to take a punch and not avoiding blows.
**
My list of Middle weights in order:
1- Sergio Martinez
2-Felix Strum
3-Dimitry Pirog
4-Daniel Geale
5-Gennady Golovkin

U.S. intentionally being turned into a low wage/cheap labour platform.

U.S. intentionally being turned into a low wage/cheap labor platform.  This is done to compete with China, the West intentionally created China as an economic power house by investing capital , transferring technology and giving china access to US markets through low tariffs.  Now Western elites have  created an artificial dialectic in which to now pit Western workers verse low wage Chinese (third world/emerging market) workers.
**
One example of the lowering of living standards in the US is the laying off or firing of workers who are then rehired at lower wage scales with worse medical and pension packages.
**
An example of this can be seen with the restructuring of the work force at GM but these policies are being implemented through the whole economy.
**
The economy has been put on reset at a lower pay scale where US workers have to work harder to access RESOURCES.

Saturday, June 11, 2011

Resources.

What are the Resources?
Resources could be things , like oil, water, factories, trained work force, certain types of social organization. etc.
**
Who consumes the Resources?
**
Who controls the Resources?

Fear of deeper economic downturn returns , just in time for Presidential election cycle.

The job statistics, and rate of GDP growth do point to a slow down in the U.S. economy.
**
One can only hope it is a short blip on the screen and not the start of something more ominous.

Under appreciated Carl Froch to defend WBC Super Middle Weight Title June 4, 2011 Saturday Night.

Under appreciated Carl Froch to defend is WBC Super Middle Weight Title on Saturday night June 4, 2011.
**
The fight will be against the excellent veteran fighter Glen Johnson aka the 'The Road Warrior".
**
The fight will be on Showtime cable Network in the US , but I am sure there are multiple ways to see this fight internationally.
**
Showtime did a great service to boxing, and to the  168 pound division by holding it's Super Middle Weight Tournament.
**
Showtime found a talent rich division with under paid performers and made the division into something special with Showtime's, marketing and distribution acumen.

1000 Billions in a Trillion

1 Trillion

The Finance sector of the US has gotten well of over a Trillion in bailouts and sweetheart deals from the Treasury and Federal Reserve.
**
Yet the government wants to sweat the US Post Office which does a great job of delivering the mail in a fantastic service to the American people, because the Post Office may need and infusion of money of a few Billion dollars.
**
Just not fair.

Game changer port of Gwadar Pakistan

China is building a port in Gwadar Pakistan , if you look at the map you can see how close this port is to the Straits of Hormuz and strategic water ways, that carry something like 40% or more of the worlds energy supplies.
**
Imagine Chinese submarines cruising these waters 7-15 years from now, heck China could even turn the tables on the US, one were the US energy lines could be cut to the US and her allies.
**
The implications of this port are huge, China could directly get her energy needs from Gwdar, and build pipelines and rail links to this point, shortening her supply routes and creating energy safety from the US Navy.
**
What ever happens in this port will have major strategic implications.

Huge Proxy battle going on between US and China in Pakistan

Of all the global flash points  between Super Powers, I would say the most tension right now is in Pakistan in the Contest between the US and China.
**
The leaders of Pakistan fear the are losing control of their country and are running to China for help.
**
China in return has given Pakistan 50 JF-17  jet fighters
**
China has asked the US to please honor Pakistan Sovereignty.
 **
Pakistan has come out and said it welcome's China's help in building a Naval Base at the strategic port of
Gwadar Pakistan.
**
I mentioned some of this in my blog in piece I wrote 9-5-2010 called aptly "String of Pearls"

Belle Epoque

Belle Epoque , I just like the way it sounds, brings up images of Argentina, and how they copied this style from Europe at the height of their wealth.
**
Some say the US is going through a phase like this right now , and that this era that is ending now will be looked back upon with nostalgia .

Monday, May 16, 2011

I would give Eliot Spitzer careful consideration if he ever ran for President of the USA.

I would give Eliot Spitzer serious consideration if he ever ran for President of the USA.  Don't know that much about him but that the banking elite set him up to be taken out before the big banking melt down is good enough for me.
**
That means he was an obstacle to the bailouts and ripoff of the American people.

Learned a lot of valueable lessons in the mid 2000's working a skilled construction trade

I learned a lot in the mid 2000's about the competitive nature of life while working a skilled construction trade.
**
Learned how hard you could work to make a buck, and how ruthless and tough people can be to hold positions of power even in that small little world.
**
These lessons have not left me and will remain with me through out my life, I guess that is how wisdom is gained one experience at a time.

STREET FIGHT!!

Another, day of fighting in  the streets of San Francisco for a living.
 **
Weaving through  traffic finding customers, dealing with different personalities, and surviving the day in one piece quite an achievement in one of the densest cities in the United States.
**
Cab driving is a combination of art, poetry, and focus.

Pavlik Wins Come Back Fight!!!

Kelly Pavlik won his come back fight at 168 pounds(Super Middle Weight verse Alfonzo Lopez on May 7, 2011, he definitely won the fight but looked rusty, and one wonders if he is going to carry his punching power up to this higher weight division, Pavlik previously was champion at 160 pounds Middle Weight.
**
I think many questions are still open after this comeback fight. But the fight itself was a positive step for Pavlik's career, now if he can just stay sober , and his brain trust is patient and intelligent in their training  and match making for Pavlik we can hope for a Pavlik resurgence.
**
All in all a good win and first step after 13 months  off and 2 months in the Betty Ford Clinic, Pavlik is supposed to be sober since November 2010. Hope he keeps up the good work.

CIRCULAR LOGIC..

The Multi National corporations based in the United States built China up by investing capital, and transferring manufacturing technology to China, then these Corporations through their lobbyist, got the United States to lower tariffs on these Chinese made goods this is reflected in China's entering of the WTO.
**
Then China builds up huge trade surplus with United States gets a glut of dollars and spends them around the world to get the commodities it needs to manufacture all the goods that it now makes for the world.
**
China gets major political and economic foothold in the resource rich continent of Africa pushing US and western companies aside, and the US tries to kick China out Africa through Africom and military intervention. Essentially denying places for China to sell it's surplus dollars, Libya being a prime example.
**
If the US government didn't empower the Chinese through it's trade policies the US wouldn't be having all these problems in Africa right now.
**

The trade game is going to change now though as China has sucked all the easy value out of the US and probably will be raising the price of the goods it produces as it is not as dependent on the US market as it once was.

Too much credit was created in boom.

Too many claims via credit on real value in the economy , but not enough real value and productive activity to satisfy all the claims on it.
**
It was easy for the economic system to create credit, hard for it to create real value.
**
Value in the form of educated work force, that created goods and services that warranted the amount of credit created if that made sense.

Peace starts with yourself.

If you can get along with yourself, you can usually get along with others.
**
If you can get along with others the ability to work and get the means to survive follows.

Flag of East India Company.

I BELIEVE THIS FLAG IS FROM YEAR 1707

I believe this flag is from the year 1707 not sure though, they had several flags over the course of their history.
**
The East India Company was created for trade with India and China.
**
The East India Company traded mainly in cotton, silk, indigo dye, saltpetre, tea, and opium.

 **
US Empire moves on Oil .

Getting to the other side..

Getting to the other side.
**
Not speaking of it death here the way the Greeks did when crossing the river Styx.
**
Speaking of getting to a more comfortable economic existence through a different job, different way of earning income.
**
Cab driving is a bridge as I try to drag myself and family across the thin ice of the U.S. economy to the "Other Side"

Still Surviving on the streets

Like Mick Jagger says in the Rolling Stones song “Shattered”  from the 1978  album “Some Girls”, “Still surviving on the streets” and that’s how it is from the seat of my cab to watch an Empire in Decline, watching the tide recede from a big economic boom, seeing all the immigrant communities that came in following the capital/money/jobs .  Migration flows follow capital flows and now capital receding. For rent signs, empty store fronts and lots of immigrants from Mexico ,Central America, and Asia. The  country in certain areas feels like the New Third World.

China out of the news cycle for now.

It is more than just the war and  upheavals in the Middle East and catastrophe in Japan.
**
This fall from the headlines seemed to come after President Obama finished his Washington meeting with Hu Jintao.
**
I suppose some type of temporary consensus came during the meeting between the two leaders.
**
I am sure China will be back in the headlines in a few months. To big a country and story to not be taking up the headlines again.

EVER THINK THE WAR IN LIBYA MIGHT BY ABOUT OIL/ENERGY?

click on map for larger view

What I found interesting about the graph is that Libya has the largest total reserves of oil in Africa.
**
I would have thought that Nigeria ,Angola or some other West African nation would have had more oil.
**
But it appears that Nigeria has 37 Billion Barrels of oil in reserve and Libya 44 Billion.

FUEL COUPONS AND FIAT CURRENCY

FUEL COUPONS=DOLLARS
Fuel coupons/dollars are traded to China for manufactured goods, in return we send them FUEL COUPONS/Treasury Bills and Dollars.
Really the US money is backed by oil and military capacity to control the oil.  So the money is not backed just by air as some say but by the US Military and the oil and energy sources under the control of the US Military.
